Miss Savannah just completed her first ever Girl Scout Service Sisters Summer Camp. She won this opportunity when we signed her up for Girl Scout during the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books. She not only made great new friends but she is on her way to earning The Silver Award which is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. Savannah along with 2 other cadettes Ashley & Abigail will work together on their “Hounds in Happy Homes” take action project. Their mission in this will be to help dogs get adopted & to get donations for much needed supplies such as beds, toys, food, etc. They are in the process of setting up their Blog where they will spread the word about their project, the projects impact and what they have learned. They want to team up with a local Petco or Petsmart so they can help some of our local animal shelters Humane Society of Southern Arizona, HOPE Animal Shelter and Pima Animal Care Center. They plan to have their project completed by January 1, 2015. More to come on how our family & friends can help these girls with their project.
It wasn’t all work and no play they attended several field trips to Whispering Pine/Mount Lemmon, Pima County Library Downtown & Hacienda Program Center. She also earned several badges the “Cadette Journey Award” & the “Epic Adventures 2014”. They had a swim day, hat day and pajama day. She had a fabulous time well worth it for her.
